Organizing Statistics
Today is an office day, and we are preparing for a library presentation. I spent some time looking up statistics that I find fascinating and want to share:
If you find that you can’t fit your car in your garage, you are not alone. The US Department of Energy reported that 1/4 of Americans with a 2 car garage have it so filled with belongings, that they can’t even fit their car in.
Storage units are an estimated $154 billion industry which is bigger than the Hollywood film business (Statistics of Clutter, Joshua Becker)
The average American receives close to 50,000 pieces of mail in their life (1/3 of which is junk mail.) (McMillan & Co)
The average American spends one year of their life looking for lost or misplaced items (US News and World Report)
The reason I am sharing these and other statistics in our presentation is to let people know they are not the only ones who feel they are losing time looking for documents or belongings. Energy , Time and Money are being lost. From unpaid bills, missed appointments, overdraft charges to not being able to return an item because the receipt can’t be found, many of our clients are excited at the prospect of change which is a positive step. Remember, it’s the little steps and motivation that get you started.
