Have a vision of what you want the room or space to look like before you start.
This seems pretty basic, but we find it keeps a lot of our clients going, especially the ones with what might appear as an overwhelming task at hand. If you are cleaning your dining room from the papers that have been deposited there for over a year because you’ve had little time to do anything else with them you are not alone. Often people have a room in the house which becomes a depository for everything they don’t know what to do with. It ranges from garages that hold boxes of ski equipment, clothes and old files to dining room tables littered with clutter.
If you have a vision of how you will enjoy and use the room once all the clutter is gone, it will help keep you on task. Maybe you can finally entertain or park your car in your garage – or both! Better yet, plan the dinner party now so you’ll be held accountable.
