Welcome to our Ship Shape Organize Boston Blog

Uncategorized

Welcome to our Ship Shape Organize Boston blog. A few months ago we started a professional organizing service catering to residential clients located within the North Shore and metro-Boston area. Through this blog we hope to give you a view into who we are and what a day in the life of a professional organizer looks like from the comical to the mundane, from the work-related to the play-related, and from our own households to some of our client’s households (with their permission of course!) We hope to provide helpful tips, quotes, and share a little bit of what we learn along the way, whether personal or professional.

For starters, the biggest question that arises in our business is “Are you going to throw out all my belongings?” The answer is NO. We realize everyone has sentimental items and that is why we work with the client and coach them through the process. Recently watching the news about Sandy, there was a man whose house had been ravaged by the hurricane and he returned to the site and found complete devastation, yet found a tarp that his father had given him and it meant so much. This is just an example of why we work directly with the client to determine what is important to them. In this case, a simple tarp meant the world to him. We are empathetic to our clients and understand that it is a difficult process.
